WEB-MASTER WANTED Hi, I'm Senior Kenneth Merenda and I've created and maintained The Bubble for 2 years now. However, I am graduating this year and if The Bubble is going to stay open, I need some one to take my place. All you will need is some basic computer experience. A computer with internet access is going to be setup in the band hall and you will be able to make easy monthly updates from it. Updates never take more than 10 minutes and you will probably be allowed to do it during you band period. If there are any band parents interested in this job, it's open to you, too. Just email us at JFDBand@POBoxes.com, stop by the band hall, or call the school (481-3000) and ask for the band hall.
The Bubble is the J. Frank Dobie High School Longhorn Marching Band Homepage. The name The Bubble comes from the "bubble of sound" our band directors are always reminding us not to break. The JFD Band has earned numerous awards over the years including UIL Sweepstakes and Sight Reading Trophies, Best Over-All Band, Best Jazz Band, Best Wind Ensemble, Top Drum Majors, 11 Place or better at Huntsville Marching Band Contest (out of 30+ other bands) for the past 4 years, and many more. The JFD Band is one of, if not the best band in the Pasadena ISD and the great state of Texas.

This year's show looks to be the most challenging performed in the history of the Dobie Band. The show will open with "Ya Gotta Try," slow down with "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square," and end with a speed drill to "Birdland." This show presents many extreme challenges in the music as well as the marching, but you can rest assured that the band will not stop until the show has reached beyond perfection. The band will also be trying out some small changes in marching style and even shadows will be marching on the field for every show (except Contest and Major Event Shows). Even if you don't like football, you won't want to miss the half-time show.
